Week Six - Scale Models

Scale Models:

Below are all of the models that I created during this process.

Model one - scale 1:20
This model is made from paper and is a very rough version of my bedroom, due to the material used the walls are flimsy and the lighting in the room is not exact. the model is at a scale of 1:20 - all measurements were the same as in real life (just scaled).

Model two - scale of 1:20
This model is made from card board and is a copy of my current bedroom, all walls, windows and furniture are the same just at a scale of 1:20, this model shows the lighting in my bedroom and the position of the furniture.

Model three - scale of 1:50
This model is a mini version of the card board 1:20 model.

Model four - scale of 1:30
This model is made from card board and is a changed version of the original, this model has an additional light source. It is a rough version of what the final altered model is going to look like. This model has a balcony, two new doors and a new window. Some of the furniture has been rearranged to suit the new room layout.

Model five - scale of 1:25
This model is a polished and furnished model, it is the altered design. This model has a balcony, two new doors and a new window as a new light source - these features give the room a much more spacious and bright feeling. Some of the furniture has been rearranged to suit the new room layout. I have added artificial lighting to this model as my room has ceiling lights - these mimic the effect these lights would have in real life.

These models took a fair amount of time to make (especially the last one), I like the way that they turned out. They convey the lighting in the room and show what altering the light source can do for a room.
